Lute Duo
In the Renaissance part of the programme, the duo presents works by one of the most important lutenist-composers, John Dowland, alongside his contemporaries, drawing a rich musical panorama of England in the 16th and early 17th centuries. The second part brings dance-like and virtuosic Baroque works, in original versions and the duo’s own arrangements, for instruments hugely popular at the time and fascinating today — the theorbo and the Baroque guitar.
